The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Friday afternoon
EYECATCHER
A headstrong individual who has had big gaps in between each of his four starts, Zyon has clearly improved for the step up in trip to 2m5½f and looked to be suited by some give in the ground when he beat a hat-trick-seeking rival at Wincanton last month. He now enters handicap company for the first time and a mark of 124 could prove lenient for a horse who has always promised plenty.
GOOD THING
Soaring Glory(2.30 Ascot)
Winner of a bumper at this venue before taking second over the same course-and-distance in Listed company last term, Soaring Glory entered this season with an exciting profile but has proved luckless in his last two outings after a winning reappearance. Second behind the highly promising Dusart at Newbury, Soaring Glory then had a Wetherby novice hurdle at his mercy when crumpling on landing and unseating rider Jonjo O'Neill jnr. This is a much tougher assignment but the return to Ascot and likely decent gallop set by Llandinabo Lad will suit.
