The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on day two of Cheltenham

GOOD THING

(2.50 Cheltenham)

Willie Mullins won the Coral Cup two years ago with Bleu Berry, an unexposed French import who improved a chunk in the weeks leading up to the festival, and the same can be said for Franco De Port this year. This five-year-old is highly regarded at Closutton and won readily on his Irish debut at Gowran Park in November, achieving a Racing Post Rating of 140. He has been beaten on his two subsequent outings but performed creditably last time behind Stormy Ireland in a Grade 3 at Naas and his opening mark of 142 looks very fair. I think he could easily make up into a 160-rated horse in no time, especially given he is highly likely to improve for the big step up in trip from 2m to 2m5f.

EYECATCHER

Aramax (4.50 Cheltenham)

I backed both Mick Pastor (16-1) and Aramax (14-1) ante-post for the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle and hopefully one of them will come out on top, with a slight preference for Gordon Elliott's runner on this ground. The JP McManus-owned four-year-old carries 11st 8lb but appears to be chucked in off a mark of 134 with another leap forward expected. He easily put away four rivals in a good trial when last seen and has long been a fancy for this contest.

BANKER

Minella Indo(2.10 Cheltenham)

Came into the Albert Bartlett last year as a maiden under rules but caused a 50-1 shock under Rachael Blackmore, before following up in a Grade 1 novice hurdle at the Punchestown festival. Hasn't been as convincing over fences in two starts this season but remains unexposed after just seven starts and clearly goes well at this venue. The ground isn't a problem and the hill will play to his advantage given he has stamina in abundance. Copperhead rates a threat but Minella Indo is the one to beat.
