The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tip on Friday afternoon
BANKER
Saint De Reve(3.05 Ascot)
Paul Nicholls and owner Johnny de la Hey won this race last year with improving, young hurdler Darling Maltaix and they can gain a repeat success with Saint De Reve. An unexposed five-year-old who notched his first career victory at the fifth attempt when last seen, Saint De Reve is a horse on the up and looks likely to be well treated off a mark of 129 on handicap debut. He hacked up over this trip at Wincanton last month, moving into contention on the bridle and quickening clear to record a 13-length success. That wasn't much of a race but you can't fault the way he did it and Nicholls applies a tongue-tie for the first time. A faster pace will suit and his novice form is better than any his rivals achieved.
