The Punt Daily: Robbie Wilders' horseracing tip at Thurles on Thursday
BANKER
Minella Melody (1.55 Thurles)
The Henry de Bromhead-trained Minella Melody should take the world of beating in Thurles's 2m6f mares’ novice chase. She was set a stiff tasking on her chasing debut in a Grade 2 at this track last time and shaped well in third, briefly looking the likeliest winner in the home straight before tiring. Minella Melody has five and a half lengths to make up with Jeremys Flame, who was having her fifth run of the season, but I expect her to do so on 5lb better terms and with that initial experience behind her. The consistent eight-year-old has never finished out of the first three bar two runs at Cheltenham, so I wouldn’t read too much into the fact she hasn’t been entered for the Mares’ Chase at this season’s festival.
