Out of broodmare Sapphire, whose dam is the prolific Polished Gem, who has also produced the likes of Free Eagle, Search For A Song, Falcon Eight, Kyprios and Custom Cut. Only showed moderate promise on her debut at Fairyhouse in June but improved massively for the run just a week later at Limerick, finishing a narrow fourth at odds of 22-1. Acqua Di Gioia's breeding suggests she will continue to improve with racing and she is expected to take another sizable leap forward again at a decent each-way price under Colin Keane, with the first-time blinkers set to aid her cause.
