I think the Richard Hughes-trained Ring Of Beara might make his mark at Group level later in the season and he could be classy enough to defy top weight and a mark of 93 in the Esher Cup. Ring Of Beara bumped into the 110-rated Imperial Fighter when second on his debut and following a comfortable novice victory at odds-on next time, was thrown in at the deep end behind Breeders' Cup winner Modern Games in the Tattersalls Stakes at Newmarket. He may have only finished fifth there, but was inconvenienced by his track position as the race developed up the far side, and I'm giving him another chance.
