The Punt Daily: Robbie Wilders' horse racing tip at Punchestown on Wednesday
DARK HORSE
Black Op (7.00 Punchestown)
The Brits received a pasting from the Irish at the Cheltenham Festival but I’m not expecting entire one-way traffic this week. Tom George saddles Black Op in the 2m4f handicap chase (7.00) and he surely has a few pounds in hand off a mark of 143. Black Op has shaped better than the distance in which he was beaten on his last two outings. He has never appealed as an out-and-out stayer over trips in excess of 3m yet was able to finish sixth in the King George two starts ago, while he was going well for a long way in the Gold Cup before weakening rounding the home turn. He returns off 4lb lower, has won a Grade 1 over this trip and retains plenty of ability at the age of ten.
