The Punt Daily: Mark Boylan's free horse racing tip at Kelso on Saturday
UNEXPOSED NOVICE
Sholokjack(1.32 Kelso)
There are other candidates in the Grade 2 Premier Novices' Hurdle who have achieved more than Sholokjack, but this Dan Skelton-trained six-year-old is likely open to considerable improvement and can make the necessary leap forward to maintain his unbeaten record. Picked up for £75,000 after winning a point-to-point on his debut in December 2020, it was another year before we got to see this promising youngster make a successful start over hurdles at Leicester, in what was probably an ordinary maiden. There was plenty to like about how he progressed to win more impressively in another moderate novice hurdle at Wetherby, and he is entitled to have a crack at this sort of company. Skelton travelled north to land this very prize 12 months ago with the exciting My Drogo.
