The Punt Daily: James Stevens' free horse racing tips on Thursday

BANKER
Wasdell Dundalk (2.20 Worcester)
A drop to the minimum trip worked wonders for Cheltenham Festival winner Sky Pirate and the same approach has been taken to some success by Jonjo O'Neill and Martin Tedham with Wasdell Dundalk. He ran a fine race when a close third here in June – the winner Castel Gandolfo reopposes – before improving once again when striking by ten lengths a week ago. The two races were over identical conditions and the race he won clocked a time almost 14 seconds faster, suggesting the quicker pace was probably crucial to that superior performance. He is officially 2lb well in but still has a bit to find on last month's form with Castel Gandolfo. However, with plenty of pace on paper and with the benefit of that recent confidence boost, Wasdell Dundalk can turn the tables here.
EACH-WAY PLAY
Yaazaain (1.15 Worcester)
Nigel Hawke has not had a winner for a short while but his horses have been running fairly well and it could be worth chancing Yaazaain on his second start for the stable. Last time, he travelled strongly at Market Rasen but an error at the third-last appeared to cost him any chance as the front two quickened clear. He is unlikely to have won that day but a step up in trip by three furlongs looks a fairly good move. He takes on a big field here so a likely good pace should suit this strong travelling type while, given he's a son of French Guineas and Oaks runner-up Tamazirte, he handles the quick ground well. Yaazaain is good enough to win a low-grade handicap and this could be his chance.
