The Punt Acca: Lee Sharp's three horse racing tips at Doncaster and Naas on Wednesday

Cardiff By The Sea (5.37 Naas) 

Cardiff By The Sea is the only one of the eight runners yet to taste victory, but there's a strong argument she brings the best form into the race. On her debut, she was beaten by subsequent Norfolk winner Charles Darwin, who had the benefit of a previous run. Admittedly, there wasn't much depth to that race, with just four runners, but you can't question the Queen Mary form, where she finished behind the impressive winner True Love, who has since shown her class in the Railway Stakes and looks a Group 1 winner in waiting. Behind her was Staya, now a Listed winner, along with several other subsequent winners. The form of the Queen Mary is worth following and Cardiff By The Sea can give it another boost.

It Just Takes Time (6.50 Doncaster)

He's a likeable, gutsy type who always finds that little bit extra in a finish, as shown by his record of 12 wins from 58 starts. He's yet to get his head in front from seven runs this season, but he’s mostly been competing in stronger races. His RPRs show he’s been running to a consistent level, achieving a rating of 80-plus in all of his starts. His mark has been gradually dropping, and he's been getting closer with each run. He's ground-versatile and will handle the soft conditions.

Ottawa (8.30 Doncaster) 

Gelded ahead of his handicap debut, he starts out from a mark of 70. He ran respectably in all three novice starts, notably outrunning odds of 50-1 on his debut. He then chased home Brave Byreflection, who has since bolted up off 72, giving that form a solid look. His most recent third can be upgraded, as the saddle slipped and he wasn’t able to show his true running. This is his first time on turf, but there's no reason his ability won't translate, and being a close relative to several horses who were rated higher than 70, he’s one to consider on his handicap debut.
