The Punt Acca: Jason Leahy's three horse racing tips at Hereford, Huntingdon and Lingfield on Tuesday

Three horses to include in a treble on Tuesday

Calvino (12.42 Lingfield)

Calvino was a decisive winner on his third bumper start and looked a horse to follow once sent over hurdles. He was just denied on his hurdling debut at Newton Abbot in October, shaping well, and this looks a good opportunity for him to go one better. The step up in trip should suit, and plenty of the yard’s younger horses have improved for their first run of the season. It would be no surprise to see Paul Nicholls land this race for the third time in six years.

Race To Base (1.00 Hereford)

Race To Base can continue the strong early-season form of Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies. He ended his bumper campaign with a win at Hereford and shaped well on his hurdling debut at Uttoxeter before tiring late. The form of that race has been boosted by three subsequent winners, and this contest looks less competitive. The return to a sharper, flatter track should suit, giving him a good chance to get off the mark over hurdles.

Blue Betty (1.26 Huntingdon)

Blue Betty showed plenty of promise when winning on her debut in a Newcastle bumper last season, and connections clearly held her in high regard, as she was pitched straight into a Grade 2 mares’ bumper at the Aintree festival. She finished down the field there but was later found to be lame, so that run is easily excused. She has since undergone a wind operation and now drops in class for her hurdling debut, and this looks a good opportunity for her to give the yard a third win in as many years.
