The Punt Acca: Andrew Cooper's three horse racing tips at Kempton and Brighton on Tuesday

Three horses to include in a treble

Thundering Breeze (3.30 Kempton)

Shaped well on more than one occasion when sent off 16-1 or bigger on her first seven starts and the money was down on the step back up to a mile at Lingfield last time. She was in the right spot towards the back of the field as it turned out (the winner came from last) but couldn’t quicken as well as some of the others. This stiffer track will suit and first-time headgear (cheekpieces) could focus her.

Unknown Journey (3.45 Brighton)

Tony Carroll is the go-to trainer at Brighton and Unknown Journey looks particularly interesting in the 1m2f 0-55 handicap, restricted to horses who haven’t won this year. He ran at up to 1m4f for Paul Attwater but has been kept to 7f/1m for his new yard. The way he kept on at Goodwood (in a race that has thrown up winners) and Kempton in June suggests this intermediate trip could be perfect and his rivals are mostly exposed, older types this time.

Francis Drake (5.05 Kempton)

Pinpointing Francis Drake’s optimum distance isn’t easy but it’s almost certainly not 5f, a trip he ran over when making his debut for new connections at Windsor recently. He was taken off his feet early but stuck to his task and went down by just over two lengths. A stiff 6f, bearing in mind he traded at 1.02 when just chinned over 7f in March, and returning to racing against just his own age group should lead to a bold showing.
