The Punt Acca: Owen Goulding's three racing tips on Thursday

Sophosc(5.36 Sandown)

Arrives on a hat-trick for Ian Williams, winning over hurdles at Plumpton in May before returning to the Flat with a 1m success at Newbury. That trip would have been inadequate, so it is very easy to upgrade that performance. An extra two furlongs with a stiff finish should be perfect for him and with Josh Agar again claiming 5lb, there is plenty to like about his chances.

Beamish(6.15 Leopardstown)

It is doubtful whether Cleveland wants this drop back in distance and with Layfayette penalised for his Group 2 win, Beamish in the one to side with. Paddy Twomey's four-year-old is unbeaten in three starts and made a seamless transition to Listed company at Roscommon last time. He stays further than this, but he handles any ground and given the excellent season Twomey is currently having, it is difficult to look past him.

Frantastic(7.15 Sandown)

Trained by John & Thady Gosden, Frantastic is dangerously unexposed and should take all the beating. The form of his two juvenile runs have worked out extremely well and it is unlikely that he gave his true running in a course-and-distance Group 3 on his reappearance. A mark of 87 looks generous based on what he has achieved thus far and with Frankie Dettori booked, he has obvious claims.
