The Punt Acca: Owen Goulding's three horse racing tips on Sunday

Benefit(4.00 Naas)

Produced an impressive turn of foot to win the Cathedral Stakes at Salisbury in June and holds valid excuses for a subsequent defeat at York, where she got behind early in a race where it paid to be prominent throughout. She is better than that and a stronger pace in this contest will certainly serve her better. John Fahy gets on extremely well with this filly and if she is in touch approaching the final furlong, she will be tough to hold off.

Glen Savage(5.12 Sandown)

Showed a great attitude to make a winning debut at Newbury in April 2021, his sole start that year, defeating the subsequently 108-rated Title in the process. Having his first start for 411 days, he was a great fourth under a penalty on return at Doncaster behind Warren Point, and he failed to see out 1m4f on his handicap debut at Newmarket last time. Down in both trip and class, with top apprentice Benoit de la Sayette on board, he has an excellent chance.

Laguna Veneta(6.12 Sandown)

Has been on the upgrade of late, winning two of her last three starts for trainer Eve Johnston Houghton. Most recently, she was a very comfortable two-and three-quarter length winner at Newmarket, for which she received just a 3lb rise. That looks very lenient and a track like Sandown should play to her strengths. She receives plenty of weight from her main rivals and a big run is surely on the cards under Charlie Bishop.
