Deservedly got back to winning ways over course and distance three starts ago and has run well in defeat in two subsequent starts, latterly when second at Carlisle. He did best of those who raced prominently that day – so the effort can be upgraded – and he remains extremely well treated on past form. His form figures at the course read 131114 and he rates as the one to beat in this line up.

Wbee(3.40 Uttoxeter)

Has been a revelation for in-form trainer Gary Hamner, winning six of his last seven starts. Most recently, he was a game winner at Cartmel in a better grade, defeating the in-form An Tailliur. That form is obviously very strong and a 4lb rise for that success is far from harsh. He goes on any ground and has a record after breaks of 1560211 and that bodes well for a big effort under Sean Bowen.

Modern News(4.05 Pontefract)

Despite having to concede weight to all his rivals, the four-year-old is tough to oppose. Alflaila comes out best at the weights, but he ideally needs a strong gallop to aim at and that seems unlikely here. Godolophin's first string has been progressive this season and was second in a Group 3 at Epsom two starts ago. He missed out by a nose to the classy My Oberon at Windsor last time and a similar performance would make him difficult to beat under regular partner William Buick.
