Top weight will be no easy task, but Juan De Montalban is a huge horse and should have no problem shouldering the burden of 10st 2lb. He was an impressive course-and-distance winner two starts ago and did not seem to see out an extra two furlongs after travelling strongly at Royal Ascot last time. Back down in both trip and grade, he can resume his progress under Jack Mitchell.

Glamorous Breeze(5.25 Ascot)

Trained by Christopher Mason, Glamorous Breeze had looked in the grip of the handicapper until her latest start at Chepstow, where she breezed to victory. She escapes a penalty eight days later and is effectively 5lb lower thanks to Luke Catton's claim. She has done all her best work in smaller fields and this scenario should prove ideal for her.

Poptronic(7.25 York)

Carrying a penalty may not be enough to stop the progressive Poptronic, who built on novice wins at Wolverhampton and Ripon by landing a Group 3 at Newcastle last month. That was a very taking performance against a useful field and it is the best form on offer in this line-up. She has 6lb to spare in terms of ratings and with Karl Burke's string in excellent form, she will be tough to beat back in Listed company.
