The Karl Burke-trained four-year-old has seemingly turned a corner this winter and improved from two fourth-place finishes to win by three and a quarter lengths over track and trip. Burke has had a winner and a third from his last three horses and his representative is 1lb better off than his nearest rival in the market, Win Win Power.

Gay Kelleway has been in terrific form in the last fortnight and Ray Vonn can count on his experience to keep that run up. While he is one of the more exposed runners in the field, the three-year-old has improved with each start to date, including when beaten three-quarters of a length last time. You can not avoid the strike-rate of his yard in the last two weeks, which is operating at 36 per cent.

Bellagio Man (5.45 Newcastle)

Antony Brittain has won with his last two runners and it might be time for Bellagio Man to be rewarded for his consistency in Newcastle's 5f handicap. Since causing a 20-1 shock at the track in early November, he has placed in five starts since, including when runner-up the last three times. While his mark has creeped up to 82, it seems as if the Brittain yard may be hitting some strong form, given he also had a second-place finisher alongside the two winners from his last four runners.
