The Placepot: Paul Kealy provides his perm for Paddy Power Gold Cup day

It doesn't look like there's a superstar in the Cheltenham's opening Triumph Trial (12.30), and while Magistrato arguably has the best form, I'm not sure he beat much at Chepstow.

I'll take a chance on getting him out of the frame with , who has been very strong at the end of his two races and wasn't bad on the Flat, and , who looked to be going best when unseating three out at Wetherby.

With Plan of Attack having run on Friday, we're probably looking at one non-runner in the next (1.05), which will take us down to just three places in a competitive affair.

My picks would be , who warmed up over hurdles last time and is well weighted on his novice form, and , who is consistent and goes well here.

looked so good on his chase debut that I'm happy to bank on him winning the next, but the Paddy Power Gold Cup (2.15) needs some coverage.

My main selections and are joined by , who could easily prove the class act in the race.

Dan Skelton has the two standout contenders in the last two legs in (2.50) and (3.25) and I'd be happy to bank on both.
