The Meydan Punt: Nick Driver's horse racing tips at Meydan on Friday

BANKER

Positivity (2.00 Meydan)

Doug O'Neill has had a great start to his Meydan campaign and Positivity can enhance that record by winning the opener. I think you can write off his last run, he got squeezed out at the gate and fell far behind, before steaming home at a rate of knots to only finish five lengths behind in a competitive group race. This is a big drop in class and a furlong further, which will suit given he's notched two wins over the 7f distance in the US. If he is up to the same form that he's showed in the US, then 98 is a very workable mark, especially against a field of exposed handicappers. He's also got the plum draw and as long as he can break well, he'll take some stopping.

GOOD THING

(3.45 Meydan)

Despite a poor summer, it's always been the plan to return the selection to Meydan and any replication of his previous form here is good enough to win this race. His third in the Al Quoz is by far the best form on offer, and the trainer has reported he's got stronger as a four-year-old, which only adds to his claim. He's definitely a value play against a vastly overpriced favourite, who probably doesn't even make it into the top three Godolphin sprinters in training.
