AMERICAN ANGLE

(11.28 Arlington)

Aidan O'Brien has a fine record in the Grade 1 Secretariat Stakes with three victories in the last eight years, but he looks to have it all to do to enhance that record with Chad Brown entering a couple of extremely talented three-year-olds. Fog Of War is the number one string and should go close to adding a second top-level success to his name on just his fifth start. A Grade 1 winner at Woodbine last year (beat subsequent Preakness winner War Of Will), Fog Of War looked a serious talent but blotted his copybook by messing up the start on his return to action at Belmont. He returned to something like his best when runner-up in the Manila Stakes last time out and is fancied to get back to winning ways tonight under Irad Ortiz.

GOOD THING

Bartat(7.15 Lingfield)

Those towards the top of the weights are the first port of call when analysing nurseries and Mick Channon's Bartat, who carries topweight, looks likely to follow up her recent success in what looks a poor contest tonight. The daughter of Heeraat didn't pull up any trees in three novice runs or on handicap debut when last of four, but showed signs of life when third of ten on her penultimate outing (first try at 6f) and backed that up with an impressive breakthrough victory at Brighton. That was arguably a better race than this and although she carries a lot of weight, she has by far the best piece of form in the race.
