A cheap purchase from Godolphin, Masked Identity did well in five starts for former trainer Kevin Frost, winning two times in novice company before finding handicaps tough off marks in the low 80s. He moved to Shaun Keightley's yard in June and ran well in a couple of decent handicaps on his two starts for the yard, including when a narrow second at Ascot off a mark of 78. He may have found the mile trip a step too far, though, and the drop to 7f looks sure to suit this prominent racer. This also represents his easiest task since entering the handicap sphere and the booking of Josephine Gordon is a positive.
