The Evening Punt: James Stevens' horse racing tips for Wednesday evening

BANKER

Thomas Lanfiere (7.55 Brighton)

Since being fitted with a hood Thomas Lanfiere has shaped well in three runs on the all-weather. The David Simcock-trained runner was particularly eye-catching at Chelmsford last time out when beaten by a head and, on ratings, he sets the standard here. The son of No Nay Never looks a strong stayer over the mile so having a few who like to go from the front certainly boost his chances. The race is set up to suit and quick ground should be fine looking at his pedigree.

EACH-WAY PLAY

Hollymount(7.35 Punchestown)

This five-year-old cost a whopping £300,000 when bought in January, having made a huge impression when winning by eight lengths on debut. That win was no surprise given she is related to smart types including Malone Road, Windsor Avenue and Ravenhill Road, and the RPR of 118 she achieved is as good as any of her opponents have recorded. The Denise Foster-trained runner was disappointing last time out, when eighth of 11 at Leopardstown, but perhaps running on better ground will work in her favour here. Hollymount is also equipped with a first-time hood which could make the difference.
