Taunton Placepot picks: Robbie Wilders lays down a perm with three bankers

Doctor Parnassus is impossible to oppose in the opening leg of the Taunton Placepot (1.15). He comes out comfortably best on RPRs after an impressive hurdling debut and should win.

The 2m3f handicap hurdle (1.50) requires more thought. Archie Watson has a 33 per cent strike-rate with jumpers in Britain this season and Percy Prosecco can go well.

Brandy Cove could be one to follow in low-grade handicaps now going right-handed for the first time and is also included.

The following mares' novice hurdle (2.25) is also quite trappy and Crossrail, a Fergal O'Brien-trained debut bumper winner open to abundant progression, goes in. Walk In Clover was a 20-length winner at Leicester last time and can also hit the places.

Slate House is a strong fancy to exploit a rapidly tumbling rating in the 2m7f handicap chase (3.00) and is banked on.

Handicap debutant Dr T J Eckleburg can also be relied on in the next (3.35). He could be thrown in off his opening mark.

Bold Conduct is worth putting in the final leg (4.10). He has smart point-to-point form and is surely better than we've seen.

Miss Harriett can also hit the frame. The heavy ground at Warwick was against her last time and she has a squeak off a feather weight.
