Roger Varian's six-year-old looked better than ever on his first two starts this season and could not have been more impressive when slamming subsequent Group 2 winner Forest Ranger in the 1m1f Earl Of Sefton at Newmarket, with Lockinge scorer Mustashry third and Saturday's Group 2 York Stakes hero Elarqam in fourth.

Zabeel Prince gave further substance to that form when landing a Group 1 of his own in the Prix d'Ispahan over 1m1½f at Longchamp in May but the wheels appear to have fallen off in two starts since.
