Sweetspots: side with Barman or you could be left after-timing

Credit: Alan Crowhurst

Dangerous Ends has won three times from four starts at Kempton and can add to his course record in the 3.45. His effort last time out can be upgraded as he met trouble in running.

George Baker has a 23 per cent strike-rate with first-time cheekpieces and Manton Grange gets the aid for the first time in the 4.15 at Kempton. The possible strong pace looks sure to suit this hold-up performer.

David O’Meara has sent nine runners to Yarmouth and come away with four winners. He runs two at the track today, with Fieldsman looking the best chance in the 7.10. Reunited with Silvestre de Sousa, who has won on him before, he went down a neck to a better-fancied stablemate last time out and still looks well treated on old form. He can go close.

Nicky Henderson has a 32 per cent strike-rate at Newton Abbot and sends just Barman to the track for the 6.30. The step back in trip should see the six-year-old in a better light.
