Sweetspots: Rubensian looks well handicapped after break

Credit: Harry Trump

David Simcock has a 25 per cent strike-rate (10-40) at Brighton. He sends Rubensian south for the 3.50. The four-year-old returns to action off a 1lb lower mark than his last win.

Johnny Farrelly applies blinkers (3-11, 27 per cent strike-rate) and a tongue-tie for the first time to new recruit Away Down West in the 6.15 at Hexham. It seems significant the horse is being sent on the long trip north with new headgear.

Bollihope has a course record of 3111 at Newcastle on the Tapeta and goes in the 3.10. He ran well last time out on turf and will relish a return to the course.

Richard Fahey and Adam McNamara have a 38 per cent strike-rate when teaming up at Nottingham. Panophobia (2.00) and Abiento (2.30) go for the pair.
