Sweetspots: Hat-trick for Maundrell’s Tambura is on the cards

When Aidan Coleman rides for Anthony Honeyball at Plumpton it’s worth taking note, they have a 50 per cent strike-rate when teaming up at the Sussex venue. They do so with Nocturnal Myth (3.40) who should benefit from a recent outing at Chepstow.

This is a good time of year for trainer GC Maundrell, who has a 50 per cent strike-rate with his horses two weeks either side of today’s date over the past five seasons. He has one runner today, Tambura, who runs in the 1.40 at Plumpton, a race she has won for the past two seasons. The hat-trick looks likely.

Brian Hughes rides very well at Fakenham, where he has a 38 per cent strike-rate at the venue. He goes there for three rides, the pick of whom is Golconda Prince (3.30) who would have learned plenty from his chasing debut at Huntingdon last month.
