Sweetspots: backers should give Belle a ringing endorsement

Credit: Alan Crowhurst

Skidby Mill hasn’t shown anything on her last three starts but this seven-time course-and-distance winner now races off
1lb lower than her last winning mark. The assistance of a 5lb claimer can see her return to form in the 3.25 at Lingfield.

It’s hard to recommend I’mwaitingforyou in the 9.15 at Kempton as she has shown nothing yet, but there must be a reason why Peter Bowen has brought the mare back after three years off. He applies a tongue-tie for the first time, operating at a 24 per cent-strike rate when doing so.

When sending runners 247 miles or further, Johnny Farrelly operates at a 25 per cent strike-rate. He sends just Degooch to Wetherby for the 4.55 and this one looks to have the boot for the shorter trip. With Noel Fehily back on board and better ground to suit, he can go close.

This is a prime time for Lucy Wadham, who operates at 23 per cent strike-rate in this period for the past five years. She sends Bermondsey Belle to Lingfield for the 3.55 and this filly looks interesting stepping up to 2m with Kieran Shoemark on board.
