The BetVictor Gold Cup is a race that has had me going around in circles since my original ante-post plunge – Knocknanuss – was the only one of the five-day entries not to be declared.

For a while I’ve been interested in the David Pipe pair Eamon An Cnoic and Warthog, partly because I fancy the trainer to have a good meeting, but I’m not convinced about the former’s stamina given the conditions and I’m not sure Warthog wants to be in a battle, which is what he will undoubtedly have to have to win this.
