Lightly raced five-year-old who was second in the Fred Winter at last year's Cheltenham Festival and finished six lengths behind subsequent Grade 1 winner and JLT runner-up Top Notch when second on his chase debut at Plumpton in November.
Paul Nicholls' gelding was undone in a muddling four-runner race at Newbury next time, but bounced back when making short work of a weak pair of rivals at 1-20 in a 2m Leicester novice chase in January. He looked the type who could go on from that.
