Star mare has plenty to prove dropping back in trip at Leopardstown

Credit: Alan Crowhurst

Chacun Pour Soi
1.25 Leopardstown
SP forecast 5-4

Landed the Grade 1 novice chase at Punchestown on his second run back after a three-year absence by more than four lengths from Defi Du Seuil in May, and the runner-up is unbeaten since and favourite for the Champion Chase. There is a chance he was flattered as Defi Du Seuil had been to Cheltenham, but the pair were 16 lengths clear of Arkle winner Duc Des Genievres. However, Chacun Pour Soi was beaten by A Plus Tard when 8-15 for his return here over Christmas and needs to come on for the run to justify the market position. Plenty of the Willie Mullins horses have needed their first runs this term, though.

Conclusion There is an argument for saying he is too short and stablemate Min is too big, but he looked so good at Punchestown and is worth another chance.
