Sprinter can bounce back dropped in class

Credit: Alan Crowhurst

No. 4
Sir Billy Wright
3.35 Salisbury
1pt win at 8-1 generallySir Billy Wright has had a good season, winning two better-class contests than today's at Southwell in February and Thirsk in July and he's now back on the same mark as for the last of them.

It's not as if he has been running that badly either, and while he was beaten a fair way on heavy ground at Haydock last time, that was in a much better race won by a horse way ahead of its mark and he still finished sixth of 15.

He has also often bounced right back from a below-par run with a good one (RPR of 68 on May 29 when well beaten, 89 seven days later when beaten a short-head) on more than one occasion and there's no doubt he's handicapped to go close so 8-1 looks fair.
