Specialv could be a sprinter to follow

Fendale bounced back to form last time 4.05 Thirsk

Fendale has been slow to come to hand, but he was a big eyecatcher at Ripon two weeks ago, comfortably leading home the ten who raced on the far side. Unfortunately for him the stands' rail was the place to be with the first four coming from that side.

That was his best run since finishing third at York last September, after which he contested the Ayr Silver Cup. I imagine the Scottish venue will be on the agenda again next month and, with that in mind, he could do with improving his rating in order to guarantee making the cut for one of the sprints.

Although the gelding hasn't won for two seasons, he surely has a race in him off 87 - 6lb lower than when he was beaten half a length into fourth over course and distance last summer. The one worry would be soft ground.
