Given his Flat mark of 83 and the surge of support which arrived before his hurdling debut at Listowel, it was hard not to be anything other than disappointed with Common Practice.

He was beaten more than 16 lengths by Aghaboy and never looked like winning. However, another watch of that race made me think it could be worth giving the JP McManus-owned three-year-old another chance as Mark Walsh looked as if he was never where he wanted to be.
