Sedgefield Placepot tips: Paul Kealy reckons hurdles newcomers is a banker

With at least eight declared for every race, Sedgefield is the obvious destination for a Placepot, even if the fare is uncompetitive.

The two standouts in the opener (12.37) are Kendancer and A Different Kind, with preference for the latter, who cruised to success in a pair of bumpers by an aggregate of 25 lengths here.

Cilluirid also looks banker material in the next (1.12) as he has hacked up the last two times he raced at the track and is 4lb well in under a penalty for last Thursday's success.

The next (1.47) is tougher, and while I'm hopeful Major Snugfit will get the job done, his hurdles profile hardly makes him a banker. Course winner Genever Dragon has now dropped to a competitive mark, so also goes in for the in-form Donald McCain.

In leg four (2.17) Lucky Icon is another whose handicap mark is becoming very tempting, especially if the first-time cheekpieces work, while Alright Marlene should be on the premises if in the same form as when last seen on this track.

In the next (2.47) Bold Endeavour, winner of his sole point and a ten-length bumper scorer here in May, has been found an easy enough assignment and should comfortably make the frame assuming he can jump hurdles.

A low-class handicap chase completes proceedings (3.20) and it can go to Celestial Sky, who ran well over hurdles just over two weeks ago and now quickly goes chasing off what could be a tidy mark.
