Blaklion did this column an almighty favour at Cheltenham in March when winning the RSA Chase, and hopefully he can provide another in the Hennessy.

It might seem premature to be looking at that race already, but it is hurtling towards us quickly, Blaklion is a very reasonable 16-1 to win it, and the race would appear to play to his strengths, so it would be a surprise if it wasn't top of his agenda for the first half of the season.

He is perfect for the Hennessy. His jumping is solid, particularly under pressure (witness his last two race-winning jumps in the RSA), he stays very well (was under consideration for the four-miler last season) and he does have class.
