Rosette sticks it to Sinbad The Sailor in dying strides

Dancing Star was matched at 46 in running on Betfair when seemingly in trouble in the 6f handicap at Newmarket, but the highly progressive filly dug deep to wear down the leaders in the final furlong and give trainer Andrew Balding his third winner in the race from his last eight runners.

More than £1,350 was traded on Sinbad The Sailor at 1.01 in the amateur riders’ handicap at Doncaster when he edged in front well inside the final furlong, but he was collared on the line by Rosette, who was matched at 50.

Riviere Argentee traded at 46 on her way to winning the fillies’ maiden at Carlisle from two rivals who were done at 1.42.
