Richard Birch relies on trio of bankers in his Sedgefield Placepot perm

Harry Fry, who sent out four winners last week, makes the 700-mile round-trip from Dorset to Sedgefield with just one runner.

It should prove to be a worthwhile journey as Hurricane Mitch, an encouraging second at Hereford last time, can blow away his rivals in leg one (12.15) of the Placepot.

Last-time-out winners Cybalko and Gold Fields are the pair to focus on in leg two (12.46), while course-and-distance scorer Nortonthorpelegend, winner of the race four years ago, appeals in leg three (1.16). Late Date provides back-up.

The Donald McCain-trained Minella Drama shaped nicely when runner-up to Llandinabo Lad at Bangor last month.

That winner advertised the form on Saturday with a commanding Haydock Listed novice hurdle success and it will be a surprise if Minella Drama fails to open his account in leg four (1.46).

Equus Dancer made a striking impression when successful over course-and-distance recently and should have all the answers in the penultimate leg (2.16). He jumped really well on his first start over fences that day.

Evita Du Mesnil, the mount of promising conditional Kevin Brogan, and Carry On, who competes off a career-low mark, are the suggestions for the final leg (2.46).
