Return to soft ground can prove a boost for lightly raced gelding

1pt win at 7-1 generallyChance To Dream ran really well on his return on the all-weather last month, failing by only half a length to peg back a winner who had stacked the field up behind him and then stole a march turning for home.

That bodes well for John Best's son of Dream Ahead, whose only previous encounter with easy turf resulted in a win at Windsor last May.

The sire obviously handled bad ground well - was controversially joint champion two-year-old with Frankel courtesy of a nine-length MIddle Park win on soft - and while he doesn't get many who stay 1m2f, Chance To Dream has already proved he does.
