What a genuine pleasure it is to have a quality mixed card to mull over at Tipperary this afternoon, a real throwback if you like and one that would hopefully attract a reasonable crowd.

Racing opens with the Glenvale Stud EBF 2-y-o Maiden (2.05), where the Ballydoyle colt Leo Minor could be all the rage after his tenderly-handled second on debut at Gowran last month. However, there may be one to beat him in the shape of the John Oxx-trained Sea Of Grace. She was touted before making her debut in an always well-contested fillies maiden at the Curragh on Derby weekend and ran a very eye-catching race as she ran on very nicely once the penny started to drop to finish third to the very smart-looking Rehana. She will have learned plenty and could take all the beating.
