You can understand why Bass Rock is favourite following his fine third in a valuable handicap over 3m½f at Haydock last month, but he got run out of things at the end and there's a nagging doubt that he's not an out-and-out slugger.

He'll need to be here, though, as last year's running of this on soft ground took just over a minute longer to complete than the Haydock race last month and it's going to be a real stamina test.
