The 28-1 outsider was one of the first under pressure and dropped into the last trio at halfway, but Michael Blanshard's gelding motored home to get up by a short head and deny 5-1 favourite Chough, who hit 1.27.

>>Avon Breeze defied a high of 160 to land the 6f handicap at Ripon. The 12-1 chance ran on strongly to lead well inside the final furlong and deny Bossipop (hit 2.1), while third Jaywalker let down backers at a low of 1.23.
