'Quick enough to play a part at a price' - Paul Kealy's Cheltenham placepot perm

Credit: Edward Whitaker

The two Triumph Hurdle trials attracted the same pool of horses at the five-day stage, but Cheltenham's (12.05) has fared better than Doncaster's in terms of numbers and Placepot punters will have three places to aim for.

Adagio is the likely favourite after his second to Duffle Coat at the last meeting, but even that run would be some way off winning an average running of this and there will surely be something better in the field.

showed serious promise on his debut over hurdles at Sandown last Saturday and gets the nod of those who have run, but there are some interesting newcomers too, and , one of the best of these on the Flat, is interesting on his first run for Dan Skelton.

In the next (12.40) is a warm favourite, but is not necessarily one to bank on. With Fusil Raffles so disappointing last time, I'll go with Quel Destin, who shapes as though he wants this trip over fences.

Leg three (1.15) is competitive and while I've been waiting for to drop to two miles, it could easily go wrong. Nietzschehas plenty of good form at this track and makes more appeal than some ahead of him in the market.

The Caspian Caviar Gold Cup (1.50) is up next and is obviously very difficult, but I do like my pair of and outsider , while Cepagenearly always runs his race here.

That's taking the perm to 24 lines already, so it is time for a banker and (2.25), so impressive in handicap company last time, looks the one for the Skeltons.

Goshen could bolt up in the final leg, but I'm not convinced after those Flat efforts in the autumn, and he'll take plenty of what's left out of the pool if he blows out on his first run in open company.

I love the way strong stayer jumped at Ascot last time, while loves this track and is still quick enough to play a part in this company at a price.
