Pursuit has a strong chance on return for in-form pair

Credit: Jon Winter

West Country Andrew King

Strong Pursuit (2.00 Newbury, nap)

Blotted his copybook last time when disappointing, but freshened up since and can make amends.

Others to follow
Newbury 3.05 Midnight Glory, 3.40 Sykes, 4.10 I'm A Game Changer, 4.45 Triangular.

Lambourn James Burn

Minella Charmer (4.10 Newbury, nap)

Things have not worked out over fences and this six-year-old appears to be Alan King's second string with Wayne Hutchinson on Inner Drive, but he might be worth chancing on the pick of his form.

Others to follow
Lingfield 4.00 Retrieve, 4.35 Ulysses, 5.50 Delfie Lane.
Newbury 2.00 Reigning Supreme.

North Colin Russell

Aprovado (6.45 Newcastle, nap)

Has run well on three of his four starts this winter including last time over 5f here last time. Just as effective at today's longer trip and fancied to go well again.

Others to follow
Lingfield 2.20 Tavener, 2.55 El Principe.
Musselburgh 2.10 Heart O Annandale, 2.45 Pot Committed, 3.20 The Dutchman, 3.50 Civil Unrest, 4.25 Mr Kite, 4.55 Grand Enterprise, 5.25 Crixus's Escape.
Newcastle 5.45 Stoneham, 6.15 Henpecked, 7.15 Marqoom, 7.45 Kazanan, 8.15 Melonade.

Newmarket David Milnes

Cheval Blanche (5.05 Lingfield, nap)

Michael Bell's grey showed she goes well fresh when scoring on her debut at Redcar last summer and had excuses when disappointing at Royal Ascot next time. The three-year-old has worked well on the Al Bahathri recently and could be potent off a mark of 71.

Others to follow
Lingfield 2.55 Dance Rebel, 4.00 Great Hall, 4.35 Asanta Sana.
Newcastle 6.15 Signe, 6.45 Parkour, 7.15 Globetrotter, 7.45 Scala Regia, 8.15 Royal Request.

Racing Post Ratings Steve Mason

Civil Unrest (3.50 Musselburgh, nap)

Course-and-distance winner who has been given a break since placing over fences off an 11lb higher mark in January. Has a good record in this grade and should go well.

Topspeed Dave Edwards

Barye (4.00 Lingfield)

Is three from six at the track and a dual course-and-distance winner. Clocked a personal best at Wolverhampton this month and can end his lean spell.

Longshot Ed Quigley

Cadeau George (3.05 Newbury)

Disappointed recently on testing ground, but looks to be on a workable mark and can go well in an open race.

Ireland Tony O'Hehir

Elusive In Paris (6.00 Dundalk)

A five-time course winner and three times over tonight's trip. The Johnny Feane-trained eight-year-old drops back in distance for the first time in a year. Placed over further on his two most recent runs at the track, he gets the vote to score under Gary Halpin.
