2pts each-wayThe Breeders' Cup returns to Santa Anita for the eighth time since the turn of the millennium and hopes are high for the European challenge as plenty of top trainers are represented at the California track across the 13 championship races.

Training winners at the showpiece meeting is exceptionally tough, most notably due to the contrast in the way domestic races are run without the pace-heavy approach, and although the Europeans could open with a couple of winners, they may find it difficult to enter the winner's enclosure for the rest of the two-day extravaganza.

They are well represented in the opening Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (8.12) with half of the 12-strong field, and A'Ali looks to have sound claims of taking the prize for trainer Simon Crisford.
