Prince back to form with all-the-way success at 33-1

It’s not often the second-highest-rated horse in a conditions race gets sent off at 33-1, but that was the case in the sprint at Beverley, with Caspian Prince winning easily at those odds on his second start for trainer David Loughnane.

The seven-year-old had run poorly since making virtually all in the Dash at Epsom on Derby day and was surprisingly held up on his debut for the yard in the Beverley Bullet last month, finishing last after pulling for his head.

Those tactics were soon binned, though, and Caspian Prince went hard from the off and never looked like being caught, particularly with favourite Double Up missing the kick slightly and having a wall of horses to pass a couple of furlong outs.
