'I've been getting plenty of stick for tipping him but surely 16-1 is a crazy price?'

Upping The Ante stars Johnny Dineen and David Jennings provide their thoughts on day two at Cheltenham

Teahupoo – play or lay?

Johnny: Lay. The problem with laying him, though, is that he is drifting out to a lot bigger price than he was a week ago. You could be laying him at 2-1 rather than 11-10. That's a big difference. I have a feeling Home By The Lee will beat him this time.

DJ: Play. If he repeats what he did last year, that will suffice. I actually think the other Robcour runner, Bob Olinger, is his biggest danger and 25-1 each-way is too big.

What's the best bet on day three?

DJ: My mother always told me that I should never succumb to peer pressure and you should always listen to your mother. I've been banging on about Caldwell Potter for the Jack Richards Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (2.00) for months now and I'm sticking to my guns. I've been getting some amount of stick on the preview night circuit, but surely 16-1 is a crazy price. Yes, he cost a fortune and he's never going to be a Gold Cup horse but this isn't a Gold Cup, it's a handicap for goodness sake, and he is so much better than a mark of 146.
