'His very first handicap screamed Cambridgeshire to me' - Johnny and DJ have 16-1 fancies for Saturday's big race

The Upping The Ante stars provide their main plays for the weekend and pick their best juvenile of the season

How did last weekend go – did you win or lose?

David Jennings: I disgraced myself on this page. Remind me never to use the term 'gift from the gods' again, please. That was in relation to the 7-2 about Rock On Thunder in the Mill Reef. He actually went off at 7-4, but that's neither here nor there, he produced an atrocious performance. It was in keeping with the rest of my dross last weekend. This game is a great leveller. Just when you think you're seeing everything crystal clear, Rock On Thunder comes out and runs like that. The cockiness will be toned down this week, that's for sure.

Johnny Dineen: I'm on a decent run at the moment. I was cursing Listowel last Sunday but the County Kerry venue has been kind to me over the last few days. The results down there have been very punter-friendly and I doubt too many on-course bookies will have harvested. Plenty of the glaringly obvious favourites in conditions races have won and indeed many of the fancied horses have won bumpers, as well, which would traditionally be bookies' saviours over the years there.

Who wins the Cambridgeshire?

Johnny: I like the Karl Burke-trained Thunder Run, who runs off 103 on the back of running in a Listed race at Windsor. He's actually been dropped 1lb since his latest run and this relatively lightly raced sort can have a big say. You're in the lap of the gods as to whether stall five is favourable or not, but as long as it's not a hindrance I'd expect a bold showing. At the very least, he's an attractive each-way play at around 16-1.
