DJ has found a Saturday nap at 9-1 which he says is 'huge' - but Johnny bites back with a 33-1 tip
Upping The Ante stars Johnny Dineen and David Jennings provide their best bets for the weekend action

How did last weekend go for you both?
David Jennings: Almost the best weekend of my life. I invested in the Lucky 15 I suggested on this page last Saturday, which kicked off with a 10-1 winner thanks to Masaccio and then Quebecois, my banker of the day, duly obliged later on the Ayr card at 4-1. Sandwiched in between were Kabral Du Mathan (9-4), who was gut-wrenchingly denied by a neck in the Scottish Champion Hurdle, and Lavida Adiva (6-1), who was runner-up in the 3m mares' handicap hurdle and might have won had she jumped the third-last a bit better. Oh well. We all have our hard-luck stories and there is another to add to my collection.
Johnny Dineen: My luck this year has been pretty decent and I posted a small profit last weekend. Punting isn’t easy and I find myself doing quite a bit of laying rather than backing these days. In an ever-changing game you have to be able to mix it up as sometimes a better option may be to look for a loser rather than attempt to find a winner. The one thing I love about the Flat is there are so many opportunities every day, but the bulk of the races are unappealing which keeps my number of bets to a minimum. That can be helpful in the overall scheme of things. I’m not trying to win the crown jewels every day either so any profit on a given day is very welcome.
Who wins the Irish Grand National?
Johnny: The top end of the market looks strong and I would expect the winner to come from there. The one who appeals to me is Johnnywho. He should have won the Kim Muir at Cheltenham, but can make amends here. He jumped and travelled with aplomb at the festival but he really should have been committed earlier and was ultimately mugged by a late rally from the Paul Nolan-trained Daily Present. He’s a class horse with a lovely racing weight who must go close if on his game next Monday.
