Robbie Wilders' play of the day at Lingfield

Spike Jones
Spike Jones landed this 2m7f handicap hurdle in 2024 off 1lb higher and has the tools to double up for Sam Drinkwater, who is operating at a decent 19 per cent strike-rate (5-26) this season and has a brilliant 36 per cent success rate (8-22) at this track.
The eight-year-old won this first time out last term, and did well to as he needed to be switched for a run multiple times in the straight.
Spike Jones may have been dropped 2lb for his last run in January, but that was a valuable Class 2 race at Windsor's inaugural Winter Million meeting and he saw his race out well in sixth.
He was right on the coattails of future big-race winners Deep Cave and Gwennie May Boy that day, and won't face anything of that ilk in this company.
